Apesar de ser aparentemente “politicamente incorreto” do ponto de vista brasileiro (dúvido ver um comercial destes por aqui), eu acho a idéia prática e eficaz, além de divertida. E não, não o vejo como um comercial machista, tendo em vista que o target não somos nós e sim as mulheres, que como sugere a reportagem do Sun, muitas vezes têm desconforto e outros problemas com modelos “frouxos”.

O norte-americano Joseph Carnevale, de 21 anos, foi preso acusado pela Justiça da Carolina do Norte de ter usado objetos de sinalização de trânsito para criar um “monstro” e colocá-lo próximo à Universidade Estadual da Carolina do Norte.

Após investigação, o Departamento de Polícia da cidade de Raleigh descobriu que Carnevale tinha sido o responsável pela “brincadeira”. Segundo o relatório policial, o suspeito foi detido na semana passada.

De acordo com a Justiça, Carnevale “destruiu três tambores” para criar a estátua. A polícia estima que o suspeito provocou um prejuízo de US$ 360 cerca de R$ 700 para a empresa proprietária dos objetos.

A Justiça do Condado de Wake agendou para o dia 21 de julho a audiência com o réu.

Enquanto vivia fora do Brasil, em Estocolmo ou em Madrid, eu encontrava extrangeiros, falava muito o inglês e eu havia decidido escrever na lingua britânica para que todos entendessem. Mas é então que eu decidi e compreendi que, primeiro, não posso agradar a todos, e segundo, a maioria dos meus leitores são tupiniquins mesmo. Ou espanhois. Ou seja, o português está muito bem obrigado.

Para não dizer que eu deixei de lado todos os outros poucos leitores de outras linguas eu instalei um tradutor, que você pode encontrar no lado direito do blog… Ou seja…

Ainda, outro motivo que me levou a abandonar o inglês para ESTE blog é que eu preciso focar em quem eu quero que leia este blog. São Brasileiros, Latinos? Ou o mundo todo? Sinceramente por enquanto o público se dá muito bem com a lingua portuguesa e não há a necessidade, nem o interesse, no inglês.

Chega de baboseiras. Que assim seja.

While at the “exile” I could read 5 books plus some parts of more 3 or 4. One of those uncompleted reads was the “Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything”. It tells mostly how the crowd-sourcing can affect and help your business by using the mass force available on the net. I still haven’t finished but I can already say that it’s a must read nowadays.

Well, the point is that I received a link from a friend that plays with the Swine Flu and asks visitors to suggest new names to the flu. It’s a extreme example but it illustrates how the power of the crowd can in some way inspire changes that one or a few couldn’t think of.

They encourage us by saying in their own words “But, with a name far inferior to the epidemics of yesteryear, how can we expect “Swine Flu” to inspire our great novelists and heavy metal acts to create the kind of art that will memorialize what may become our generation’s great pandemic?”

I just love the introduction with all the colors and how the brush happily paints the scenario. Another thing that calls my attentions is how they somehow tell children that drinking is a bad think, and how the brush makes samba out of cachaça!

In 1942 Walt Disney Studios came with a new character that introduced and popularized the samba and some of the Brazilian culture around the world. It represented the “carioca” that is who is from Rio de Janeiro. He was first introduced in the movie “Alô Amigos” (Saludo Amigos) where he interacts with Donald Duck and occasionally with Carmen Miranda, another Brazilian Symbol around the World.

It is said that it was created by Walt Disney itself when staying at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro. He was so impressed by Rio and the Samba that he decided to give a present both to Rio and to the Brazilian people. This present was José Carioca, more known as Zé Carioca. It’s said that after listening so many parrot jokes in the street, so having an talking parrot would be a nice way to represent the Brazilian happiness.

The reason Walt Disney was in visit to Brazil was that after the Second World War the US had an Agenda that intended to get closer with the countries in Latin America to fight the communism. This initiative was called the “Good Neighbor Policy”
