I had a class about Internet tools that are very insightful and useful for Planners.
The most interesting one until now is the “La lista WIP“, WIP standing for Web Important People. There you just type a name of someone famous or important, politicians are a interesting try, and it gathers you information about this person like number of news references on the web, the position in the list, according to the country and worldwide, last news, graphs and related people.

Other one is the “most viewed” form Elpais.com where you can check what is attracting attention at the site. Probably your local newspaper has something like this.
TubeMogul is another tool that is really relevant for planners and for those who upload videos to videostream sites like Youtube. It is like an google analytics for Videos, it collects information for almost all streaming sites.
